I am doing a tagine this evening using skinned and boneless chicken breasts. While at the grocery store, I saw skinned and boneless breasts for $4.79 per pound. There were skin on and bone in breasts for $2.59 per pound.
I know there is weight in the bones and skin, but it seemed that paying $2.20 a pound extra for the work to be pre-done for me was excessive. So, I bought the cheaper breasts and butchered them myself. That took maybe 15 minutes.
I weighed the resultant breasts and multiplied by $4.79. I saved a WHOPPING $0.19 cents doing it myself. Next time I need skinned and boneless chicken breasts, that is what I am buying!
