From our friends at Food Democracy Now!

It’s time to Stop Monsanto  – Join Us for the Food Fight of the Century to label GMOs!

Dear Virgil,

GMOs = Frankenfoods

GMOs = Frankenfoods

Tonight is Halloween and there’s nothing more frightening than the future that Monsanto and the giant pesticide companies have in store for us.

In just six days, on November 6th, California voters will head to the polls to vote on this historic initiative and your help right now can determine the outcome!

If you need a reminder of why passing Prop 37 is so important, consider the fact that 12 new GMO crops await approval at the USDA, including a new GMO apple and at any moment after the election, the new administration could approve a GMO salmon, placing both a popular fruit and a genetically engineered animal on your plate for the very first time! This is not the future we want for our children or the planet and right now you are the most powerful voice to determine our future.

Click here to chip in to help defeat Monsanto’s bid to stop GMO labeling in California and the U.S. – Together we will win!

If you’re like us, you don’t want to wake up on November 7th and wish that you had done more.

The fight for the future of our food supply has never had a better chance to show our political muscle than with winning GMO labeling in California and we’re asking if you can make a last minute contribution to help put our ads on the air in as many cities as possible.

The other side has raised more than $44 million dollars to defeat the labeling of genetically engineered foods in California. I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you, their ads and lies are everywhere here, trying to confuse voters. But this is not over, we need your help today!

As of last Friday Monsanto alone has put in $8.1 million dollars, making them the largest contributor fighting our democratic rights. DuPont has dumped in $4.9 million against California’s mothers, children and farmers. Ironically, the same companies fighting our Right to Know on Prop 37 already label their genetically engineered foods in 61 other countries around the world. Now they say they can’t comply in the U.S.?

In these final days the results are very close, but Monsanto and their allies are running scared and together we can stop them!

Like you, I want to avoid a frightening future where we don’t have the right to know what we’re eating or feeding our children. This moment is our chance to reclaim food democracy for us all.

Right now Food Democracy Now! and our allies are in a fight to the finish against Monsanto and other giant pesticide and junk food companies. With your support, Food Democracy Action!, our allied 501(c)4 organization, has already contributed $75,000 to help win Prop 37. Please help us get across the finish line by helping us make another $25,000 donation to win Prop 37 on November 6th.

It’s time to stand up for our organic future!

Remember, as California goes, so goes the nation.

Thanks for participating in food democracy,Dave, Lisa and the Food Democracy Action! TeamP.S. If you can, please join the 10,000 volunteers in California and across the U.S. by volunteering for our national phone bank to help us call millions of California voters in the next week. It’s easy. Just sign up to get a quick online training and then join one or more shifts to reach California voters. The great news is that you can help win GMO labeling from the comfort of your home and it won’t cost you a dime in phone charges.

All money raised for this campaign will go through Food Democracy Action!, a 501(c)4 allied organization of Food Democracy Now!, focused on grassroots lobbying and legislative action. Donations are not tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
