I don’t know how many of you have heard of Kickstarter. It is a platform for anyone to help fund creative projects. You can contribute as little as $1.00 and help make a project happen. I have backed three projects and Growing Cities is one of them. It is pretty cool to be able to be a part of something like this.
I thought I would share their latest newsletter. You can go to their web site (links below) for more info. I can’t wait to see the final film.
The Winds of Change Are A Blowin’
Greetings from Omaha! A lot can change in a month, and while football is back and the weather has gone from scorching hot to early autumn chilly, we’ve made a lot of progress…
Cutting away… Editing the film so far has been an incredible challenge – both exciting and difficult. Segments from the West Coast have taken shape and we wanted to share an outtake of Jim Montgomery’s interview from Berkeley, CA. Click the video below to hear his great advice on how to start growing without taking on too much!
We’ve got a composer… Crucial to any film is good music and we’re proud to announce that San Francisco based composer Joel St. Julien has signed on to write music for the film! We’re really excited to be working with him. Check out some of his past work here.
Farm to Fork Conference NYC… At the beginning of October we’ll be speaking at the Farm to Fork Conference in NYC – attended by the King & Queen of Sweden! While we’re in the city we’re looking forward to making new friends as well as seeing old ones, including the good people at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm, Window Farms, and 596 Acres. If you’re in NYC we’d love to hear from you!
Social Media/Outreach Intern… We need a new intern…or three! If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the Growing Cities team please check out this internship posting.
Well, thats all for now. We hope you enjoy the last bits of summer. As autumn descends upon us we’ll be planting some fall crops and tending to our film, as always!
Best Wishes -Andrew, Dan, & the rest of the Growing Cities Team
