Max and Moritz German BakeryThis restaurant is in a small strip mall with two other outstanding restaurants, Bombay Central and Sakura (see my review of Sakura). Some of the best German food I’ve had outside of Germany. This is a small place and also a bakery. The bakery had a relatively small selection of items, but what I saw looked good. What we had was all quite excellent:

Jaegerschnitzel: lightly breaded and fried perfectly. Not all Jaegerschnitzel is fried (I’ve had it is Germany that was not. The dark mushroom sauce was good. I had potato salad and mine was nice with a hint of vinegar that was nice and unlike the heavy mayo potato salad we tend to get in the US. Germans make awesome potato salad and everyone makes it differently.

The spatzle was very good, as well. Salads were romaine with a yogurt type Tadzhiki dressing, at least it wasn’t iceburg lettuce. Salad was so-so.

Nice and attentive staff, there were regulars there and it was crowded, always a good sign. Next time, I’ll get curry wurst.

Gruss Gott!
