One-Maudie – run away

This specifically refers to the Augusta, Georgia, location on Washington Rd, but the other couple of Olive Gardens I’ve been too were just as bad.

Olive Garden is a franchise operation and I’ve said before, you never get great food at any franchise restaurant. You can get good food. Unfortunately, Olive Garden does not rate even good food. I gave it one star on Yelp.com, the worst possible. Here is my review:

Does not deserve to call their food Italian. This place is barely above fast food. If you have to go to a franchise chain (which I never recommend) go to Carrabba’s. For good Italian in Augusta, go to Luigi’s or Augustino’s. Nuff said.

In response to a friend’s comment:

Never attempt to eat Italian food where there are no Italians. It’s like getting good BBQ in North Dakota.

I responded:

Good comparison. I love the Olive Garden ads – “When you are at Olive Garden, you are family.” Yeah, if your mama can’t cook!

Even the professional photo makes the food look horrible

Even the professional photo makes the food look horrible, meat looks like a hockey puck

In Augusta, if you want Italian, go to Luigi’s.

What’s the appeal of Luigi’s? I was completely unimpressed.
